Marco Gazzaniga is an electronic engineer and a NATO and EU Programs Officer. He has extensive experience in the fields of vertical lift air-vehicles (rotary wing and tilt-rotor, manned/unmanned), computer-based Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) encompassing Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities, and Interoperability (DOTMLEPFI) analysis, architectures and solutions, Weapon System Real-time Architecture Definition and Validation, EDT applications including AI, Real-time System Integration and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) for MDO-based operations supporting Combat Readiness Evaluation of Land HQs and Units activities and deployments, and VBS3/4 software for mission and tactical simulation. His roles in NATO include: NIAG Chairman and Team Leader for different study groups, NATO Science and Technology (STO) Applied Vehicle Technology (AVT) Panel Member at large, and NATO Army Armaments Group (NAAG) Joint Capability Group Vertical Lift (JCGVL) Member. Currently he is affiliated with the Italian Centre for Land Forces Studies.
