Commodore Koningsbrugge joined the Royal Netherlands Navy in 1972 and looks back at 38 years of military service before he retired in 2010. He is currently an independent advisor on naval programmes and works as a consultant for Goliath-Hollinda. His last two military positions were Head of the Department for Operational Requirements in the Royal Netherlands Navy Staff (2000 – 2004) and Director for Naval and Maritime systems in the NLD Defence Materiel Organization (2004 – 2010). During his last post he was also the Chairman of the NATO Naval Armaments Group (NNAG). After his military career he still was the Netherlands representative in the NATO Industrial Advisory Group (NIAG) and the NIAG’s representative in the NNAG (2010 – 2014).
