Major Eric Yuan is the Air Mobility Strategist, Joint Air Power Competence Centre (NATO), in Kalkar, Germany. In this role, he executes the JAPCC Program of Work for air mobility including leading the Global Air to Air Refuelling interoperability and compatibility efforts, supporting AIRCOM’s Specialized Heavy Air Refuelling Course (SHARC), and supporting the Military Committee Joint Standardisation Board as the Chairman of the Air to Air Refueling Working Group.

Maj Yuan commissioned from the United States Air Force Academy in 2014 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with minor studies in Chinese Mandarin. He received his “Wings” and pilot rating from Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, and then was selected to fly the KC-10A. As a Senior Pilot, he instructed & commanded 4+ crew of $130.4M KC-10A for air refueling of USAF, NATO & Joint fighter, bomber, reconnaissance & airlift aircraft. He has served in a variety of operational and support positions throughout his career, flying both air refueling, airlift and training missions worldwide in Operations NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.
