Wing Commander Goodwin has served in the Royal Air Force (RAF) since 1997. He has spent most of his career as a Training Officer, working with the RAF Regiment, Joint Helicopter Force and Tactical Air Transport. He qualified as a SERE Instructor in 2008 and was involved in the creation of the UK’s Defence SERE Training Organisation. As a trained Information Operations Officer, he and has undertaken operational assignments as a Media Analyst in Bosnia Herzegovina (2000), as the Strategy Division Non-Kinetics Chief in the CAOC, Al Udeid Air Base (2017), and covered as acting STRATCOM advisor, HQ AIRCOM in the months following the invasion of Ukraine. He is currently serving as Branch Head Lessons Learned, HQ AIRCOM, Ramstein Air Base.
