Robert Egnell is a Professor of military sociology and head of the Department of Security, Strategy, and Leadership at the Swedish Defence University. He earned his PhD from the Department of War Studies at King’s College, London (2008). Between 2012 and 2015, he was on leave as a Visiting Professor and Director of Teaching with the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. Robert is also a Captain in the Swedish Army Reserve with international experience from the first Swedish battalion in Kosovo 1999-2000.
